Bush for Brains
I know the political banter on this blog has been quiescent for a while, but there's just too much that's going on in the world! To comment on everything that's important, I'd be writing on this thing constantly with no eating or sleeping or working. Let's just focus on the genius of our fearless and brainless leader today.
Where do I even begin? There's just way too much to comment on. The latest genius-move was selling of 6 U.S. ports to Dubai Ports World company, a company owned and based in the Middle East. The biggest concern is obviously national security, allowing a Middle Eastern company ownership and control of ports in to the U.S. And our Einstein president says it poses NO security risks.
Let's back up a little bit. This is coming from the same man who said it's necessary to wire-tap phones of American citizens in the interest of national security, and that doing so was necessary for the War on Terror. But allowing ports in to the country to be owned, operated, and controlled by a company from the Middle East is perfectly fine and that there are absolutely no security risks there. I realize that these are two very different issues but...can someone please explain the rational thought behind this?
Now to say DPW is associated with al-Qaeda or any other terrorist organization is lunacy. But does that make any sense? You want to wire-tap your own people in the interest of national security, but are perfectly willing to allow a company in close proximity to your enemy full access to your country with no worries.
The second biggest head-scratcher is the U.S.'s involvement in world politics, specifically Palestine. As I understand, Palestine had recently held government elections. The U.S. has fought long and hard to bring democracy there. However, when the Palestinian people voted to keep the Hamas in power in the Palestinian Parliament, the U.S. was greatly upset by this and didn't want to accept this.
Again, let's back up a little bit. U.S. has wanted democracy in Palestine. But when the people voted to keep Hamas in power, the U.S. doesn't want to accept/recognize that.
Talk about not practicing what you preach.
