Curse AOL Spamers!
I can't stand it! My stupid AOL account has been stolen 6 times by spamers so far in the past month! Now if a spamers wants to do that with my account, that's fine. Just don't change the bloody password or close down my account. Sheesh.
Anyway, today I went apple-picking with Richel. It wasn't my idea to go. But I've always wondered about apple, or cherry, or apricot-picking. Maybe a hundred years ago or so, my ancestors were working in the fields as farmers, probably picking multiple fruits and vegetables from trees to eat and sell for a meager profit. Since then, my family has struggled to improve their lifestyles, and I've studied hard to become a working professional so that I can work in a nice large building and have an office, etc. And what do we do in our spare time? We drive for hours to get to the orchards to pick fruits and vegetables. I dunno, kinda doesn't make sense to me.
Anyway, I was trying to teach Richel how to find good apples to pick. HA! Like *I* know. I theorized on how to pick good apples, but wasn't sure if it was true. I told her to look for bunches of apples that were close to the ground because that meant that the apples have become heavy with juice and pulled the tree branches down. Then, I said to gently twist or tug on the apple and if it came right off the tree, then it was a nice ripe apple. If not, then it wasn't ripe, yet and you should leave it alone. I also told her to keep an eye out for apple trees that had lots of apples on the ground below it, because that meant that that tree had many ripe apples that were just falling off. Richel wanted to test the theory by actually tasting the apple. You can't do that! And even if you could, those apples are so freakin' dirty. Who would want to? So she actually wiped one down fairly well and took a couple of bites and I was like, "what are you doing? You can't do that! Otherwise, everyone would be taking bites of their apples and throwing away the ones they didn't like." Oh well...kinda neat little festival going on there.
I went bowling for the first time in...8 years or so. I can't believe I got a 126! After all these years, too! During my prime bowling days in high school, I averaged 160-170. My highest score was about 200 but I never really got past that.
Well, if I can ever figure out how to post pictures...

Congratulations for having posted three entries so far. However, I noticed there's a lot of cursing going on in this blog. Hmmmmm. I may have to censor that. ;) Anyway, the apple was good. I would have finished it if I hadn't realize what an idiot I was for taking a bite out of that apple without actually washing it first. What if it was sprayed with pesticide? Oh well, I guess women just can't resist biting apples. Blame Eve for that.
